The right color can transform a room. Behr makes it easy to find your perfect color.

For Best Results:

The best way to determine whether a color is right for your room is to paint a small swatch on your wall, so you can view the color in the exact space and lighting conditions.

Step 1

Visit the BEHR Color Solutions Center at your nearest The Home Depot location.

TIP:
Before selecting a color, ask yourself first what kind of look and feel you'd like your space to have. Color is a major player in creating atmosphere and transforming spaces.
Step 2

Browse through the standard color chips arranged by color hue, or take a look at the annual trend card to see what colors are hot this season.

TIP:
Warm colors, such as members of the red, orange and yellow families will create spaces that are welcoming, comforting and energizing. Cool colors, from the blue, green and purple families, make spaces that feel open, breezy and relaxing.
Step 3

If you're unsure about color pairings, browse the BEHR color cards that offer bright ideas on color combinations.

Step 4

You can also visit behr.com and browse Behr's massive color selection from the comfort of your home.

TIP:
Once you've chosen your color, select your color's intensity level next. A color intensity is how bright or muted it is. Next, choose the color's lightness level. Light colors open up rooms and dark colors will make your space feel more intimate and cozy.
Step 5

Purchase paint samples and paint a swatch of color on your wall before you make your final decision. View your selected color options in the room you will be painting.

TIP:
Observe how the color changes throughout the day and night. It may be necessary to alter lightness or intensity level of the color to best fit your space.
