How To: Basic Roller Technique for Texture Paint

Skill:  Novice DIY'er

BEHR PREMIUM PLUS® Texture Paint is a unique product that creates a distinctive look.

For Best Results:

When loading a roller, do not apply more pressure to squeeze more texture out of a roller. Instead, reload the roller and let the tools do the work.

To blend each new section with the previous one, overlap your new roller pass 3" over the old one.

Stand away from the wall and review your work periodically to ensure an even look.

Step 1

When applying BEHR PREMUIM PLUS® Texture Paint with a roller, roll the looped roller cover into the well of the paint tray. Do this several times to cover the entire surface of the roller cover with texture. Roll off excess texture onto the shallow end of the paint tray. Perform this procedure several times to ensure the roller cover is entirely saturated with texture

A properly loaded roller should not drip when moved, and does not require you to apply force against a surface when painting.
Step 2

When applying Texture Paint, you will need to re-load the roller more often than you would when applying traditional paint.
