I love injecting colour into unexpected places. It’s a great way to show your personality and honestly – it’s just fun too! My hallway was in desperate need of some colour. It was quite drab.

After giving it a pop of colour, we have a whole new hallway and it even feels bigger.

To Re-create This Look

First, remove everything from your walls and tape off any walls, trim or ceilings that you don’t want to get paint on.

Start with the green Exquisite Emerald paint. Using a 2” paint brush, paint all along the edges of the walls. After edging, come back and fill in the unpainted area of the wall using a paint roller.

To keep the green from taking over the hallway, I decided to paint white (Behr’s Snow Fall W-F-600) a little over halfway up the hallway walls.

Using a measuring tape, make tick marks 50-½” up on the wall. Run a strip of painter’s tape right along the tick marks, then paint right up to the tape. Remove the tape as soon as you’ve painted on your last coat.

“I went with a bold green Exquisite Emerald
for my hallway because green is one of my favorite accent colors. It can be seen throughout my home, however it’s only on one other small wall.” - Behr Exquisite Emerald

"I opted to go with BEHR MARQUEE® paint because of its one-coat coverage. It makes for a quick and easy makeover with less hands-on time."

Achieving Balance

I had originally intended to paint the entire hallway this green hue. However, when I got it all on the walls, I realized it was way too much for the space. That’s ok! It happens sometimes! To balance out the green, I needed some white.

The white frames help to connect the green and white.

The hallway is light, bright and fun now. Do you have a space that is screaming for some color?
