  4. Let the experts at Behr Paints and Faux Finishes show you how to use Premium Plus Interior Texture Paint to create a basic roll-on finish on your interior walls. There is no need to be afraid of a project when Behr is there to guide you.

  5. Begin your project by transferring PREMIUM PLUS® Interior Texture Paint to a 5-gallon bucket and stirring it thoroughly with a stir stick.

  6. Dip a quality 2”–2½” wide nylon/polyester brush into the texture paint in the bucket. With your brush, paint (cut in) around the perimeter of your working surface. Start at a top corner and continue along the ceiling and the baseboards.

    TIP: To avoid drips, tap off the excess paint against the inside wall of the bucket.

  7. Place a 5-gallon bucket grid in the bucket. Using a roller frame and a looped roller cover, work the tool into the texture paint until it is fully loaded.

  8. Starting in a 3’ x 3’ section at a top corner of your project, roll the texture paint onto the surface in a “W” formation.

  9. Work the roller back and forth across the section until the “W” is completely filled in. Be sure to roll over the cut in area as well. Forming a column from top to bottom, paint the next 3’ x 3’ section directly below the previous one.

    TIP: To avoid drips, tap off the excess paint against the inside wall of the bucket.

  10. Repeat this process of forming columns until the entire working surface is covered.

  11. Allow the first coat of texture paint to dry thoroughly. Then begin applying a second coat following the process above.

    TIP: Applying a second coat will provide a more uniform and consistent appearance.

  12. Continue until the entire surface is covered.

  13. To add color, apply a topcoat of PREMIUM PLUS® Interior Paint to the surface using the “W and fill-in process” after the roll-on finish has cured for 24 hours.

    TIP: Applying a topcoat of paint increases the protection of the textured finish.

  14. Repeat the process until the project is complete.
