  5. Begin your project by transferring PREMIUM PLUS® Interior Texture Paint to a 5-gallon bucket and stirring it thoroughly with a stir stick.

  6. Dip a quality 2”–2½” wide nylon/polyester brush into the texture paint in the bucket. With your brush, paint (cut in) around the perimeter of your working surface. Start at a top corner and continue along the ceiling and around the baseboards.

    TIP: To avoid drips, tap off the excess paint against the inside wall of the bucket.

  7. Place a 5-gallon bucket grid into the bucket. Using a roller frame and a looped roller cover, work the roller into the texture paint until it is fully loaded.

  8. Starting in a 3’ x 3’ section at a top corner of your project, begin rolling the texture paint in a “W” formation.

  9. Work the roller back and forth across the section until the “W” is completely filled in. Be sure to roll over the cut in area as well. Forming a column from top to bottom, paint the next 3’ x 3’ section directly below the previous one.

    TIP: Texture Paint has an open working time of approximately 10–15 minutes. To keep the edges wet for blending, be sure to work in small 3' x 3' sections.

  10. Repeat the process of forming columns until the entire working surface is covered. Allow the coat to set for 15–20 minutes.

    TIP: Be sure to allow this first coat to set for 15–20 minutes before starting the painted canvas treatment.

  11. To create the painted canvas finish, return to the top corner of your newly painted textured surface and roll a new coat of texture paint onto a 3’ x 3’ section. Allow it to set for 5 minutes.

  12. Using a water dampened sea sponge, lightly wipe the 3' x 3' section in a free-form pattern until you have created a look you like.

  13. With your roller, paint the next 3’ x 3’ section to the side of the previous one. Form a row. Allow it to set for 5 minutes.

  14. Using the same free-style technique as before, lightly wipe the dampened sea sponge over the new section. As you go, overlap and blend each section to avoid hard edges.

  15. Working in 3’ x 3’ sections, repeat the process of painting, texturing, and blending until the entire surface is covered.

  16. To add color, apply a topcoat of PREMIUM PLUS® Interior Paint onto the textured surface using the “W and fill-in” process after the painted canvas finish has cured for 24 hours.

    TIP: Applying a topcoat of paint increases the protection of the textured finish.

  17. Repeat the process until the project is complete.
