Oil-Latex Redwood Stain No. 9

A deep redwood tone color stain to protect exterior wood surfaces. The unique oil-latex formula penetrates wood surfaces and remains flexible to resist cracking, flaking and peeling on properly prepared surfaces.

Where to Use

Exterior new or properly prepared wood surfaces such as fences, siding and patio furniture.

Preparation†

To remove loose wood fibers, latex, oil-based and 100% acrylic coatings on new or weathered wood decks, siding, fences, shakes and shingles use BEHR® PREMIUM STAIN & FINISH STRIPPER NO.64.
Use BEHR® PREMIUM 2-IN-1 WOOD PREP NO.63 to clean and brighten the wood surface and to remove light to medium stains caused by mold, mildew, algae & fungus. Rinse thoroughly. Allow to dry. Apply coating. On new wood use NO.63 to remove mill glaze and open the pores of the wood.
For severe stains caused by mold, mildew, algae & fungus apply BEHR® PREMIUM MOLD & MILDEW STAIN REMOVER NO.62 and rinse prior to applying BEHR® PREMIUM 2-IN-1 WOOD PREP NO.63.

Application

Do not use if temperature is below 50°F (10°C) or if rain is expected within 24 hours.

When working with more than one container of the same color, intermix to ensure color uniformity. Do not thin product.

Stir thoroughly prior to and during use.

Avoid applying stain in direct sunlight or to hot surfaces.

Apply with a natural bristle brush or paint pad at a spread rate of approximately 400 sq. ft. (37m2) per gallon on smooth surfaces and 200 sq. ft. (18m2) per gallon on rough surfaces. On rough surfaces apply with a 3/4” long nap roller or high quality airless sprayer.

Follow spraying immediately with back-brushing or back-rolling for a uniform appearance.

Two coats may be applied, however a more solid color appearance will result.

Dry Time

Dries to the touch in 1 hour.

Allow 4 hours before recoating.

Clean Up

Brushes and other equipment can be cleaned with warm, soapy water.
For disposal of unused paint products, please contact your household refuse collection service.

IMPORTANT! DO NOT OPEN CAN WITHOUT READING INSTRUCTIONS. A quality product that contains a mildewcide will assist in providing a surface film that is resistant to mildew. While this product does contain a mildewcide, it will not prevent mildew growth.
