BEHR® Oil-Base Interior/Exterior Hi-Gloss Enamel
This product provides a professional quality, high hide, mildew resistant alkyd finish with excellent stain removal. It is a fast drying, durable high gloss enamel that helps protect interior and exterior surfaces against repeated abrasion, rust and a variety of chemicals.
Where to Use
- Properly prepared Interior or Exterior surfaces such as: Wood, Drywall, Plaster, Masonry, Metal, Well-bonded Wallpaper, Brick, Stucco, Aluminum and Cinder Block. Do not use on horizontal surfaces.
Preparation†
(The following steps are recommended for best results.)
- Allow new stucco, plaster and masonry to cure for 30 days.
- CLEAN: For interior and exterior surfaces, remove dirt, oil and grease stains with a product such as BEHR PREMIUM™ CONCRETE & MASONRY DEGREASER & CLEANER NO. 990. Remove mildew stains with a mildew stain removing product. Remove all loose and peeling paint; scuff sand glossy surfaces; caulk; repair imperfections and sand smooth. For exterior surfaces, powerwash to remove chalk. Etch galvanized metal with a product such as BEHR PREMIUM CONCRETE & MASONRY CLEANER & ETCHER NO. 991. Follow all label instructions.
- PRIME: Use a product such as BEHR® 100% ACRYLIC PRIMER & SEALER N0. 436 or a product such as BEHR OIL-BASED PRIMER & SEALER N0. 434. Follow all label instructions.
Application
- DO NOT THIN. Stir before and during application. When working with more than one can of the same product, intermix to ensure color uniformity. Use adequate ventilation during application & drying process. Certain colors may require more than one coat to achieve complete hide and coverage. Use product when air and surface temperatures are between 40–90°F (4-32°C).
- Apply a thin coat using a high quality china bristle brush, 1/4-3/8” nap roller or an airless sprayer (.013-.015 spray tip) at a spread rate of 500-550 sq. ft. (46-51 m2) per gallon over primed smooth surfaces and 350-400 sq. ft. (33-37 m2) per gallon over primed rough surfaces.
Dry Time
- Dries to the touch in 4-5 hours. Longer dry time required in cooler temperatures and higher humidity. Recoat in 24 hours. Wait at least 7 days before rinsing or cleaning the surface with a mild, non-abrasive detergent.
Clean Up
- Use mineral spirits. Properly dispose of all soiled rags and protect unused product from freezing.
- For disposal of empty containers and unused product, contact your household refuse collection service.

LIMITED WARRANTY BEHR PROCESS CORPORATION warrants that this product meets Behr’s manufacturing specifications. If this product does not meet these specifications, Behr Process Corporation will, at its option and upon proof of purchase, either furnish an equivalent amount of new product to you or refund the purchase price of this product.This guarantee excludes (1) labor and costs of labor for application or removal of any product; or (2) any incidental or consequential damages, whether based on breach of express or implied warranty, negligence, strict liability or any other legal theory. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state.

IMPORTANT! STORAGE AND DISPOSAL: DANGER! Rags, steel wool and waste soaked with this BEHR OIL-BASE High-GLOSS ENAMEL may spontaneously catch fire if improperly discarded or stored. To avoid a spontaneous combustion fire, immediately after use, place rags, steel wool or waste in a sealed, water-filled, metal container. Do not store unused product inside the home. For disposal guidance, contact your household refuse collection service, fire department, county or state government environmental control agency.

A dust mask does not provide protection against vapors. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wash thoroughly after handling. Close container after each use. FIRST AID: If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Call a physician immediately. If you experience difficulty in breathing, leave the area to obtain fresh air. If continued difficulty is experienced, get medical assistance immediately. In case of eye contact, flush immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention; for skin, wash thoroughly with soap and water.
