Help for Homes

by Erika Woelfel

You knew the color yellow and your house were destined to be together. All your life you had envisioned it- your yellow house, the shining sun with joy and joyness, birds chirping in the gently rustling trees, the grass immaculately cut and the perfect shade of grass green. Now that it was time to paint, that very vision was within your grasp, and nothing was going to stop you. Throwing caution to the wind, and everyone else’s opinion you ran to your local paint store and…

This happened.

But it was supposed to be this…

Because we know that your significant other doesn’t know what they are talking about, the guy and the paint store looks funny at everyone, the street illuminated before you painted, and that, that color looked a lot different on that tiny chip, we are extending a helping hand.

If you are not so happy with your home color, send a note through “Ask Erika” with a quick explanation of what happened and how you got there (so we can help you attain that dream vision) and from there we’ll be in touch for photos. We will select a few of the most deserving (that will stop the neighborhood kids from riding by and pointing or your neighbor from erecting an additional 10 feet of vertical fencing) and pick out a new color scheme and Photoshop it on your image.

Colorfully Yours,

Erika

Hi Erika – looking for help with yellow! I can’t pick the right color. I’m looking for something for my basement family room, no outside light. Something that wraps your arms around you and welcomes you in. I seem to be going duck / mustard yellow, not at all what I want. Help Please!!

      Hi Johana,
Thank you for your interest in BEHR Paint!

I will be happy to help you in choosing the perfect yellow for your basement. I will recommend a brighter, lighter yellow. A saturated yellow may show like a mustard in your basement.
Here are some recommendations some thing a bit brighter. Honey Infusion P270-1, Soft Buttercup P290-1, Summer Bliss P280-1 and Glass of Milk P260-1. Please let me know if any of those work out for you.

      Colorfully yours,
      Erika

What color is the house? I am looking for a soft, warm gold for exterior with brown accents. My deck is currently a medium brown that sits to the left of my main house. I would like to keep it a brown – whether it be med. or dark brown. Husband likes gold but I am having trouble deciding. I do like the “Charismatic” color.

Hello Lynette, thank you for visiting our blog!

That house color is Pale Honey PPU6-08 which is a soft yellow tone.

Charismatic is a great choice to go with for your home as well. Another color you can take a look at is Cellini Gold HDC-CL-18.

      Deanna
