Seaside Decor

by Erika Woelfel

Part two of the coastal living story is what décor looks like on the inside of seaside homes. The approach to “life at the beach” is easy comfort. Incorporate into your decorating motif details made of rope, canvas, rattan, weathered wood, polished stones and sea glass. Oceanic wildlife – fish, birds, shells – provide endless inspiration for photo art and table top collections. As you can imagine, colors are inspired by views of the sea, dunes, beach and sky…

Mediterranean blues are fresh on a clean white background.

White fixtures complement soft sea glass green and sandy gold in this spacious bath.

Light blue walls are the perfect backdrop for photo collections and seaside memorabilia.

Orange accents update a classic seaside palette of blue, white and driftwood gray. Eclectic appeal can be achieved by mixing stripes with floral or chinoiserie textiles.

Dark navy adds a dash of the nautical theme in this dining room with walls the color of dried sea grass…

Close your eyes and drift off to the sound of waves on the beach: Layering white, light neutrals and soft blue in a bedroom is the ultimate in seaside relaxation!

Colorfully Yours,

Erika

I absolutely love these color schemes! I used the country beige scheme in my old house and it brought so much life to the living area. I will definitely be using country beige in my new house as well.

Thank you for the color schemes!
