\nWhen it\u2019s time to think about adding color to your kitchen, one of the first things that comes to mind is the walls. But, have you thought about how color plays a role in other elements, such as the flooring, fixtures, cabinets and windows? Whether you are just refreshing your kitchen with new decorating touches or doing home remodel, take a look at these three kitchens and how color played a role in developing their styles.
\nPeaceful Kitchen<\/strong>
\nIn this first example, the light blue walls create a peaceful tone in this open concept kitchen. This was a home remodeling project that involved removing dividing walls and increasing the amount of natural light by installing replacement windows<\/a>. Wood windows were chosen for their natural warmth, although they could be stained darker or even painted. They are a nice compliment to the laminate flooring that echoes the wood plank look. The island was kept white to almost disappear into the space, despite the large size which helps provide additional storage. Glass shades were chosen for the overhead lighting to keep the light, airy and open feeling.

\nModern Kitchen<\/strong>
\nIn our second kitchen, deep blue cabinets are the focal point and really capture your attention to make a statement. This kitchen has clean lines that carry through to the cabinet pulls and angular pendant lights. The warm wood color in the floor repeats in the neutral color of the sliding patio door, which creates a nice visual balance to the room. The wall color was kept neutral, but warm, so it would not compete with the boldness of the cabinets.

\nMonochromatic Kitchen<\/strong>
\nThe final kitchen uses neutral colors in a variety of tints and shades to create a calming space for entertaining. The pop of color comes through the use of natural wood that creates a bit of a rustic feeling. This is used in the island, window and patio door. The walls, granite countertops, wall cabinets and flooring are all kept a similar color value that gives the eye plenty of spaces to rest and feel relaxed.
