How to Paint a Cabinet Door

Painting a cabinet door is a simple way to bring new life into your kitchen. We will walk you through the best way to do it with a few simple steps.

For Best Results:

Take the time to properly clean and prepare your cabinet doors. Removing all the dust and grime is essential to achieve the desired results. Depending on what color you are painting over, you may need to apply a coat of primer first.

    Step 1

    Grab your tools.

    To get started, clean your cabinet doors to make sure that all dust and grime is gone.

    Using a block sander, sand in a back and forth motion, moving with the grain of the wood.

    Wipe off the excess dust. 

  5. Painting a cabinet door

    Step 5

    Start painting with the grain, starting in the middle and move out toward the edges.

    Repeat for the remaining doors.
