Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for cabinets! The paint guy at Home Depot talked me out of another brand for my cabinets. He said I wouldn't be sorry and I figured he knew more about it than I do. I don't have a spray painter but the paint still went on smoothly, no streaks or brush marks. They look beautiful and I could not be more happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sold! Although my husband and I have been painting many years, we have used a variety of these modified alkyd paints, this behr brand has definitely sold us, I have not used it on exteriors short of a front door with no direct sun, but great for bathrooms, and all doors, cabinets and mouldings. We’ve used satin and semigloss, but would like to know if it’s available in gloss.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super hard finish Used the Alkyd satin to spray a barn door. It came out great, and the paint has dried rock hard.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Alkyd paint won't harden I applied this paint to cabinets almost 3 weeks ago and its still soft, can be scratched with a fingernail!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I need help! Hi, I am not sure if I am happy with the Satin finish on my Kitchen Cabinets. It has almost been a week since I finished painting. I am thinking of adding another coat. or do you recommend a coat of sealer or something on them? They seem soft and dull. What do you recommend? Should I recoat with Semi? Help please Thank you.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average / Mediocre Alkyd Enamel Paint Paint should not take 4 days to dry; (dry, not cure). I painted cabinet doors that I made using an air HVLP spray gun and after four days, you can touch the painted surface and it feels sticky and you can leave finger impressions on the sides where I picked up the cabinet door to inspect. If you choose this paint, it's best to have a longer term plan as the dry time is long. Hopefully the performance is worth it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible paint for exterior We put this paint on new exterior trim, it looked great when first painted, but within a year it started wearing off! After a year and a half, almost all the trim was wearing and peeling off. Absolutely would not recommend this paint for exterior use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very durable. We used this paint to topcoat a dining table top in a vacation rental property. At the end of the season, after a rough season, it still looked like the day we painted. Excellent product!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lumpy paint and won't dry I applied a coat of semi-gloss to a desk I built for my Grandson. Top was sanded and tack cloth was used. Clean brushes, paint was lumpy when drying. sanded between coats ...24 hours wait time and paint still lumpy and will not completely dry. Sorry I did not use oil base paint.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful paint I purchased this paint for refinishing cabinets. I stripped sanded and primed cabinets before applying paint. I tried 3 different foam rollers. The first coat was super nappy and uneven. Lightly sanded after 1st coat and applied 2nd coat which was less nappy but left bad roller marks. Sanded 2nd coat and applied 3rd coat which still was nappy. In addition to that the paint feel tacky after 2 weeks. Frustrating to put in so much effort and end up with cabinets that are tacky & no where near smooth.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not great on walls The sales woman at Home Depot said “this is really great paint! You won’t see any brush marks.” She didn’t ask what kind of paint I wanted or what my project was. When I looked at it, I asked if it could be used on walls. She said yes. I applied a coat yesterday to my bathroom walls and it looks awful. You can see every bit of edging and it almost looks like a different color from where I rolled. I am wondering if I can sand it off somehow and start over! It is making this bathroom renovation turn into way too long of a project.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Headache This paint was recommended to me for refinishing my cabinets. I have waited days and even weeks between coats and the paint is still sticky to the touch. It’s been nothing but a time consuming headache, can’t imagine I will ever use this paint again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent choice I painted my kitchen cabinets a year ago with this paint. It is an easy paint to apply. The finish, sturdiness and color have held up well. The surface wipes clean and resists stains. I was skeptical about painting my kitchen cabinets , but have been pleasantly surprised!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I used to HATE my bathroom cabinets and now I LOVE I was a little wary of painting the home depot builder grade cabinets in my bathroom but I used Behr Urethane Alkyd Satin Enamel and I'm really happy I did. My cabinets were about 15 years old and were that extremely dated oak finish. Now, they look up-to-date and frankly, almost brand new. I used ordinary white primer and three coats of alkyd satin enamel in Linen White, which is slightly darker than the white vanity top but warm enough to work with my brownish tiles. I used did three coats but probably could have managed with two. I couldn't be happier with the results. In fact, I plan to do the vanity in my main bathroom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Leveling I’ve used this product four times now to refinish cabinets. I did not spray, I used a brush and planned on two coats from the beginning. You can definitely achieve a spray like finish since it levels so well. I did put in two coats of primer fist for bond strength mostly. My client was very pleased with the results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough enough for a rental unit - looks great! I have long been a fan of Behr paint - it is the only paint that I buy. Last year I decided to upgrade my casita to be utilized as a vacational rental... of course, Behr paint went on the walls & ceiling. There was a standard honey oak vanity in the bathroom; while it was in good shape, I wanted to give it a "makeover". I replaced the laminate countertop with a granite model with an undermount sink and some sleek new hardware. While the top was off, I sanded all of the exposed wood; to the cabinet base, I applied a "distressed" oak stain and sealed with clear. For the doors (which get the most abuse), I knew that I needed something that could withstand wear and tear, and that I would not have to continually touch up (sometimes folks leave in the morning and others arrive in the afternoon). After doing some research, I chose Behr Alkyd enamel; I wanted something to I could run through my HVLP because I didn't want any brush marks on the doors. This paint has performed amazingly across the board; it went through my sprayer without needing to be thinned. It's been a year and a half and I have never had to touch up the paint on the cabinet doors. I am so impressed with it that as I am now giving a "makeover" to my 1988 RV, I will again use Behr Alkyd enamel for the faces of all cabinet doors/drawers. For me, there is nothing better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Secret to a smooth finish I bought this paint and the recommened high density foam roller from the home store. I prepped my bathroom vanity with sanding and primer. I can't get a smooth finish on my cabinet doors. I've tried the foam roller, a regular roller, different brushes. I am not happy. Is there a secret? I just don't get it. I wish I would have just bought a new vanity now.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This paint won’t dry! I decided to paint my smooth wood cabinets white. The lady at Home a Depot recommenced this product to me. I’m so frustrated because after weeks the paint is still tacky and scratches easily. I originally sanded, primed and sanded between coats when painting. Not sure if there’s something I can do to help set this paint. I read other reviews saying the paint dried hard as a rock. That’s what I was hoping for. Praying I don’t have to repaint all my cabinets.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute garbage! Don't believe all the talk of smooth finishes and self-leveling. I used this stuff on kitchen cabinets which were absolutely smooth wood. I cleaned and primed. I painted using the recommended roller, resulting in an orange peel finish. I sanded it per the instructions and rolled again. Orange peel again. I sanded back down to bare wood and started over completely, trying a foam roller this time. Same result as before. Slightly less orange peel, but absolutely awful. Oh, and the other kicker - paint was still tacky after 2 weeks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not happy with the finish. used this product and now dont think i should continue for the rest of cabinets. It didnt come out smooth. You can see the texture. I was thinking I should switch to the semi-gloss for more of a sheer look. But worried it will still not be smooth..
