Skill:  Intermediate DIY'er

BEHR PREMIUM PLUS with Style® Venetian Plaster Topcoat is a clear, protective coat that dries to a satin sheen.  Applying this topcoat will result in an aged, marble-like look of style and elegance.

For Best Results:

Use in high moisture, areas such as bathrooms, kitchens and high traffic areas such as hallways and entryways.

Burnish your Venetian Plaster finish prior to applying the Venetian Plaster Topcoat. Refer to the how-to, "How to Burnish Venetian Plaster Finish" for more info.

Suggested Supplies
  • Vinyl Gloves
  • Rags
  • Steel Trowel
  • Sandpaper
  1. Step 1

If you are applying a topcoat to the surface, use a clean, flexible, 4" (or larger) steel trowel to thinly spread VENETIAN PLASTER TOPCOAT onto the newly prepared Venetian Plaster surface. Hold the trowel at a 30º-60º angle and use long and short overlapping strokes. Allow to it dry for approximately 24 hours.

By applying only thin coats of VENETIAN PLASTER TOPCOAT, you will avoid producing puddles in the recessed areas of the surface that can create a milky appearance on the topcoat.
  2. Step 2

Wipe off the steel trowel often, to avoid product build-up.
