Great coverage

Love the Behr Deckover product. Salesperson told me ahead of time that it is a very thick consistency and boy, she wasn't kidding. Almost thick like pudding. Excellent coverage, fills in any cracks or imperfections you may have in your deck boards. My only thing is I wish we would have bought the smooth texture We bought the semi textured one but it's a little too gritty

Yes, I recommend this product.

Behr Deck Advanced Stain

My deck was really rough with lots of grooves in the wood and it hadn't been stained in quite a few years. I bought the deck advance with the regular texture in the chocolate brown color and it went on amazing and covered all the imperfections so well. I really love the finished result and I'd highly recommend it to anyone with a deck that has seen some harsh winters and is aged.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Old Deck transformed into a New Deck

Advanced Deck Over paint made my old deck look like new. All the imperfections of my deck were hidden with this thick paint. I could't be happier with the results and it was so easy to apply. Would not use any other paint in the future.

Horrible

Behr DeckOver peeled off in sheets after the second year. It was the worse paint product I’ve ever used. I would rate a zero if there was that option. It took months to get the deck sanded and scraped down to bare wood to refinish with another product.

No, I do not recommend this product.

DeckOver saves time and mooney

I have used DeckOver 3 times on 2 properties, to rejuvenate deteriorated wood decks and stairs. I am not handy so I hired a handyman/painter to do the work. Following instructions to clean and prepare the surface, the job was finished in a reasonable time frame, and made a 100% improvement on the appearance and the durability of the decks. I am more than satisfied with the results...compared to replacing the deck, this product adds years of life to existing decks.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Used Behr Deckover on 200 ft of wooden fence

The product applied easily and the results were fantastic! Our 30 year old wooden picket fence was brought back to life. It was time-consuming because we had painted each picket, but the effort was worth it.

So easy to use!

Thought we were going to power wash and restain our deck but the paint that was on it was tougher to get off than we hoped. This was so great because we were able to just go right over what was there. It went on well and still looked like a stain compared to the paint someone had previously done, which was exactly the look we were wanting! Would 100% definitely use again!

Excellent Coverage and Beautiful, Textured Finish

My deck was very old and gray, and I was amazed at how well this product covered it. Even with the age and weathering, the coverage was excellent, and the color brought my deck back to life. I chose the extra texture option, and I absolutely love it—it feels like walking on sand, giving the deck a subtle beachy vibe. I really love the finished product and highly recommend this paint for anyone wanting to revive an older deck.

Added new life to a worn out deck

It's all about the prep. Deck looks awesome, hope it holds up. Filled in splits and cracks, has some sand for texture. Only problem, finish is very flat, and dirt sticks to the textured surface.

Interesting thickness

Well after purchasing paint from Lowe’s for the lat time due to selling me products that cracked and peeled very soon after painting. I feel that this paint has good quality. The paint has good coverage and does fill in cracks and holes. The paint has a pudding type consistency and I find it hard to work with when using a roller but easier with a brush. It just bothers me when the roller seems to waste so much paint that I can’t control. I rolled my front porch and it turned out great along with the back porch. The porch extension has been more difficult but I think it’s due to the extension being exposed to weather. Overall I’m happy with the paint just don’t care for dealing with the consistency.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Exceptional deckover coating material

I was really impressed with Behr's deckover material. Purchased two 5 gal buckets and applied to my wooden aging deck. The product is thick to fill in the cracks and then strengthen the aged wood. This product added several years of life to the wood deck. I'm going to use this product again now for another project. Highly recommend to others

Thick as Sludge .. and they say don't thin it out

This stuff is impossible to use. It's as thick as sludge and impossible to spread. They say to not thin it out, but there's no other way to use it, and then it just becomes watered down paint. Very disappointed .. overpriced and definitely not worth it.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Hi there, Thanks for your review. I'm sorry to hear your containers of Advanced DeckOver seemed too thick. While this product should have a thick consistency, similar to oatmeal, it should not be too difficult to apply. I see you also emailed us regarding this issue, and one of our reps replied to provide further assistance. I went ahead and resent their reply, so it's at the top of your inbox. Please be sure to check your Spam folder in case it ends up there. We hope to hear back from you soon! -Christina

Hi there, Thanks for your review. I'm sorry to hear about the scuff marks on your deck. To fix this, I recommend cleaning off the marks. You can use our All-In-One Wood Cleaner diluted or at full strength for harder-to-remove marks. Please keep in mind that periodic maintenance cleaning may be needed since this product has a textured finish, and dirt can stick to it easier. I've also emailed you directly to get more info about your project and assist further. Hope to hear back from you soon! -Christina

Brilliant Results

We treated our patio deck, pool deck and stairs early last fall and the results were outstanding. We got so many compliments from family and friends. I can't wait to put out all our outdoor furniture, open the pool and purchase all our pots for the upcoming season. We can't wait to entertain once again on our decks that look brand new.

Painting with Purpose

Deckover is a mind blowing product. I was very skeptical when the product went on like I was working with pudding. I was happy to see the cracks filled and the coverage looking better than expected. The color choice left the deck with natural highlights. Loved the finished look.

Hi there, thank you for reviewing our stain. I’m sorry to hear that the stain is starting to peel. I can understand your disappointment since the product did not provide the 10-year life expectancy. To fix the issue, remove any stain that is loose or peeling by scraping, sanding, or using a power washer at a low setting. From there, you can clean with our All-In-One Wood Cleaner, followed by two coats of stain applied according to the label directions. I’ve also reached out to you via email to learn more about your project and assist you with this further. Looks awesome

I did not realize how bad the porch was until we redid it with the Behr Premium Advanced Deck over! Even after the first coat and it looks amazing. Rich covering, the wood looks transformed. It is really thick paint, so it takes a while to paint, it soaks into the wood, but it is worth it! I wish there were small containers also for touchups, because now I have to buy a whole gallon for some small things!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Way Too Thick

Prepped my deck based on the instructions given. The first gallon we used spread with a roller. But we had major issues with the second, third, and fourth can. The consistency was too thick. We had home depot shake gallons again, and still could not spread. Even after so much stirring the stir stick snapped. It felt like I was painting with wet cement. Could not stick to the rollers or brush, and spread in chunks. How many cans do I have to return? I don't understand how this can be sold for anyone to use. My deck is incomplete, and looks ruined. I think we need to strip it all, and use another product. How anyone could call this product smooth is kidding themselves. What a waste of time and money.

No, I do not recommend this product.

It peeled up after a couple of years. It looked really nice in the beginning. We live in the snow belt area, so not sure if all the weather made it peel after a couple of years.
