How to Paint a Dresser Drawer

A fresh coat of paint is a quick and easy way to transform a dresser. We will show you step by step how to get the job done right.

Suggested Tools & Supplies

  • BEHR® Chalk Decorative Paint Brush 

  • BEHR® Chalk Decorative Paint 

  • Drop Cloth 

  • Screwdriver

  • Sand block 

  • Step 1

    Grab your tools.

  • Step 2

    Wipe the dresser to remove any dust. 

  • Step 3

    Prep the surface by gently sanding, using a sanding block. 

  • Step 4

    Wipe off any excess dust.

  • Step 5

    Lay the dresser drawers flat over a drop cloth.

  • Step 6

    Dip your BEHR® Chalk Decorative Paint Brush into the BEHR® Chalk Decorative Paint and gently twist the brush to remove the excess paint.

  • Step 7

    Using your paint brush, paint the whole dresser drawer with smooth even strokes in the direction of the grain.
