How to prep a ceiling

For clean lines, use a putty knife to press down firmly on the tape to prevent any paint from seeping behind it.
Tools & supplies
- BEHR® Stain-Blocking Primer
- Screwdriver
- Painter’s Tape
- Brush (2"-2½")
Step-by-step process
Step 1
Grab your tools.
Step 2
Using the painter’s tape, tape off the places where the ceiling and the wall meet.
Step 3
If your ceiling has vents, you will want to remove them with a screwdriver.
Step 4
If you have any stains on your ceiling, just paint them over with a BEHR® Stain-Blocking Primer.
Step 5
Your ceiling is ready to be painted.
