Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for cabinets! The paint guy at Home Depot talked me out of another brand for my cabinets. He said I wouldn't be sorry and I figured he knew more about it than I do. I don't have a spray painter but the paint still went on smoothly, no streaks or brush marks. They look beautiful and I could not be more happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sold! Although my husband and I have been painting many years, we have used a variety of these modified alkyd paints, this behr brand has definitely sold us, I have not used it on exteriors short of a front door with no direct sun, but great for bathrooms, and all doors, cabinets and mouldings. We’ve used satin and semigloss, but would like to know if it’s available in gloss.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super hard finish Used the Alkyd satin to spray a barn door. It came out great, and the paint has dried rock hard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth finish and easy application! I had to search for this product because for some reason it is not available in Alabama, but I’m so happy I did. After first trying Benjamin Moore cabinet paint to refinish my master bathroom cabinets that kept coming up with an orange peel effect. I searched online and found good reviews for this specific Behr paint. The problem was, it wasn’t available in my state, so I bought it while on a visit to my parents. It worked as promised and leveled out as it dried to a perfect smooth finish and looks like a factory application all done with my sponge roller.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what we had hoped for Bought this paint after much research to paint our kitchen cabinets. They were a perfectly smooth, wood cabinet - so no pre-existing texture. We followed all the instructions, thoroughly cleaned the surfaces and deglossed with liquid deglosser. Used primer, and then laid down 2 coats with 1/4” nap, waiting a full 24+ hrs between recoat time. After the first coat I freaked out, you could see obvious nap texture everywhere as well as actual roller marks. I contacted behr for tips and they recommended trying the second coat. We did that and while the roller marks seem to not be an issue now, there is still heavy nap texture. I am SO DISAPPOINTED. I had hoped for a smooth finish, as that is what is advertised - especially since we were starting with a perfectly smooth surface. It’d also now been 48+hrs and the cabinets still feel like I could dent them with my fingernail. Nowhere close to a hardened “enamel” finish. And now my cabinets are ruined. We are halfway through the kitchen and I’m seriously thinking of switching to another paint brand for the remainder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommend I used this to paint our front door at the recommendation of a friend, but against contractor's recommendation. I think the contractor didn't prefer, because a little more attention to application requirements is needed, as well as it involves a messier clean-up. This was applied over a brand new mahogany door. (It had some wood defects, so staining wasn't an option.) I primed it with Kilz Original, and sanded. Then 2 coats of this product. In hindsight, I should have made sure to keep the coats lighter. I liked the qualities of hardness after curing, and ability to have an even coat. We waited about a week before putting the hardware on and installing. I wanted a paint to go on nicely, last a long time, and hold up to some abuse. So far so good. Cons: you DO have to follow directions, as this paint is a little more unforgiving in application method. Use the right kind of sprayer or roller. And do NOT go over it until it is fully cured. Longer cure time than latex enamel. PROS: A very hard finish, with a nice luster. I have no doubt this will hold up much better than a regular latex enamel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Low odor and goes on smooth It did a beautiful job covering my stained trim. Very nice finish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coverage I bought this to paint an outdoor fence that was old and had peeling paint. After removing the old paint the wood was tired and dry. This paint covered wonderfully and gave new life to the old fence. With a second coat, I am sure it will last many more years!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful white. Solid penetration on stained wood I bought this to paint trim, doors, doorframes, and window frames. I only did a rough sand before priming, and then did one coat of paint. For the most part, things look great. It adhered well, dried hard, and the stain didn't come through, despite only one coat of paint. There are spots (mostly where I didn't sand well) where it could use another coat, but that's my own fault. Overall very pleased with this paint and the coverage. Will buy again for other projects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great color and shine I purchased it about two months ago and really love the way the crisp white makes my molding, baseboards, and doors pop. It brings out my wall color also because the white is so bright.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Finish I bought this paint to refinish my kitchen cabinets. I needed a durable paint that was also easy to apply as I was doing the work myself. The finish is extremely smooth and so far seems pretty tough. And clean up was easy. Thanks for a great product

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice finish - but oh those brush strokes.!! While the finish was nice, I was expecting the paint to level, as legacy oil based alkyd paints do. No...Deep brush strokes is what you should expect. Behr premium plus levels much much better..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durability for my kitchen cabinets I read up on Alkyd paint and best to use on kitchen cabinets, so far very happy, wipes up very well. I spent a lil more on this paint but well worth it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Pinterest dream I fell in love with the color whipped mint on a door while scrolling through Pinterest. I was hesitant at first unsure of whether or not this paint would hold up on a metal door. It’s been 3 months and this door has been through humidity, rain, 2 kids and 2 dogs. I’ve wiped it down and cleaned it multiple times and the paint looks just as fresh as the day I painted it. Would definitely recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing cabinet paint! We recently painted our old awful cabinets with this amazing paint. After doing a lot of research we decided that this would be a great choice and we are not disappointed. It has been about a month since using it and there are no chips or scratches on any of the cabinets or doors. The paint spread wonderfully and covered everything well. Would absolutely recommend this paint for cabinets!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely durable paint I bought this paint to spray onto my old cabinets that I use heavily at work. It has been one year so far and no damages. The only knicks I have so far are from when I did not let it dry for 5/7 days. This paint is extremely sticky. After I spayed the cabinets my shoes got stuck to the floor and pretty much felt like glue so I had to throw my shoes away. The quality is great I will definitely be purchasing the same paint again when I am ready to paint my kitchen cabinets. Just make sure you dry it for 7 days

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just OK. I bought this paint to try on my bathroom cabinets before attempting my kitchen. While I loved being able to pick my color and do love the color, the paint was thicker than expected and didn't level as smooth as I had hoped. The bigger issue was that after 10 days, my kids dropped tooth paste on the cabinet and forgot about it. When I went to wipe the tooth paste off, the paint came off as well. I had sanded my cabinet, primed it and applied 2 coats. It states on the can 7 days before wiping. I am disappointed. I live in Phoenix, AZ where it is very warm and dry right now, so humidity is not an issue.
