How to stain a composite surface

Apply stain with quality equipment and start with vertical areas first.
Apply even coats and allow ample dry time before exposing the surface to foot traffic and re-arranging plants and furniture.

Step-by-step process
Step 1
To effectively remove mold, dirt, and grime from composite surfaces, use BEHR PREMIUM® All-in-One Wood Cleaner. Rinse thoroughly with a garden hose or pressure washer and allow the area to dry at least 24 hours before coating.
Step 2
Apply BEHR PREMIUM® Solid Color Waterproofing Stain & Sealer using a brush or roller directly over clean, dry composite decking to give you a whole new look. Make sure to follow all label instructions.
Or
For weathered composite surfaces use BEHR PREMIUM ADVANCED DeckOver® to bring new life to old composite decks.
Step 3
Wait 24-48 hours before light foot traffic and 72 hours for full cure. Additional dry time may be needed in cooler temperatures and higher humidity.
