Misleading product and no real warranty

Followed the instructions exactly how it said to prep my existing garage floor. Applied this with a roller. Went down goodnin areas and no so good in areas. Let it dry for a full 24hrs before applying behr epoxy paint. 2 coats later and it looks bad. Mixed both cans together before applying and it's patchy all over. I'd suggest spraying the 2nd coat for equal coverage or just buy a better product. Both the concrete bond and the paint failed me.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Something went drastically wrong...

I bought 1 can of Behr Concrete & Masonry Bonding Primer. I hired a contractor for $650 to apply it to my garage floor. The contractor said it was a dark blue color and he supposed since the can said clear, that it must dry clear. It actually looked nice, not clear, but it dried a darker gray than the concrete's natural color. I actually loved it. So I went back on 2 occasions and got a total of 7 more cans to do my entire driveway. I hired another contractor who charged me $375 to do my entire driveway. I used the remaining can from the garage to start with and of course that part of the driveway matched the garage floor. That contractor then started using the remaining 7 cans (the contents was white not blue), so when I got home to look at the work to find my driveway was 2 different colors once it dried. The 2nd contractor also thought when it dried it would match. I need to know why the contents of the cans are not matching. I have attached photos, I have receipts from Home Depot for the Primer, and receipts from p\the contractor payments.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Poor Quality Product - Does Not Perform

We bought this product along with the Behr Concrete & Garage Self Priming 1-Part Epoxy, and Etch & Cleaner to prep and apply to our concrete slab garage floor. We stripped, scrubbed and cleaned our garage floor, and let it dry overnight. Then we applied two coats of the Primer over the course of a day allowing the Primer to dry in between the coats. Then we applied two coats of the Epoxy over the course of a day allowing the Epoxy to dry in between coats. Then just to be sure we didn't disturb the cure process, we let it cure for a week before moving anything onto the floor, then we waited an additional two more weeks before we parked our vehicles in the garage to ensure the cure was solid. Since then the epoxy has bubbled, torn, flaked, peeled and been warped after the first time it was parked on. We followed all the directions from the manufacturer, used Behr's "Required" supplemental products and even went as far as letting the product cure longer than indicated and there were still issues. If I could scrape the whole floor up and put the scrapings back in the gallon containers and return it I would, but that still wouldn't reimburse me for the other materials and time I spent in conjunction with applying this product.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Hi there, thank you for your review and the helpful pictures of your project. I'm very sorry to hear about the issues you've experienced with your coated garage floor. That is not the performance we expect of our Concrete & Masonry Bonding Primer and Concrete & Garage 1-Part Epoxy, so I appreciate you bringing this to our attention. To fix the issues, I recommend removing the loose coating before etching any bare concrete that feels smoother than 150-grit sandpaper to encourage adhesion. Then, make sure the surface is clean and dry before priming the bare spots and touching up the areas. If needed, apply a thin recoat for uniformity. In any case, I know this was quite an extensive project, which is why I've reached out to you via email to assist you further and help get your project back on track. Thank you again for your review, and I hope to hear from you soon!

Smaller Size

We are painting our front porch with Antislip Porch and Patio Paint (small with just 2 steps) and Behr recommended using this product before painting. Great product, but both products need to be offered in a smaller size - like a quart or pint for really small jobs. We are going to have almost a full can of the Bonding Primer left over and about 3/4 of a can of the paint for such a small project. When my husband spoke with customer service, they told him he would need about of quart of each. We would have gone with that if Behr offered it.

Yes, I recommend this product.

It’s okay.

I bought this floor paint that has Epoxy just last week. Slate Grey. Painted the floors and let it dry for 72 hours. After it dried, I moved furniture back on top. One of them was a bookshelf no more than 50 points. When moving the bookshelf back, I had to shelf to the corner. I’m doing so, it do scratch up the pant. Ok fact, it scraped off the paint. I didn’t know it was so easily scratched off. But that wasn’t an issue. I just took more paint and painted over it. It would have been five starts if it wasn’t that early scratched off.

Applies easily BUT

After following all instructions as well as waiting actually 17days ( over time period) prior to having vehicle drive onto carport the paint actually lifted in areas. I will not use this particular product again. Although I must say Behr did send me the primer & epoxy at no charge to re-do the whole job over. I will continue to use Behr paints ...

No, I do not recommend this product.

Needed to prepare the surface of my 6 month old concrete porch for painting. The bonding primer was amazing. -- easy to apply and worked to ensure that the paint adhered beautifully. Nearly a year has passed and the result is still perfect. Highly recommend the bonding primer (as well as all Behr products). Truly a company that makes quality products.
