Don’t buy this

I thought I’d try this “wet look” sealer as I thought I’d save some money by not going with my usual go to (WR Meadows CS 309 30). It’s a waste of time. One coat of CS 309 provides a true wet look, as it’s a high solid sealer. This isn’t. I couldn’t find any information of the solids in the product and after one coat, I’m left with a full looking patio. Two coats may help, but it’s doubtful. Don’t buy this stuff. Instead, go to a reputable concrete supply store and buy WR Meadows products if you’re looking to seal your stone/concrete. By the way, I spent the better part of 25 years on the wrong end of a hand trowel, so I’ve got some experience with this sort of thing.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Hi j_mon, thanks for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience with our Wet-Look Sealer. We recommend applying a minimum of one coat to your surface to add gloss to it. However, you can add up to four coats to achieve your desired sheen. Keep in mind more porous surfaces may need more than one coat to give you the desired wet look. Customer satisfaction is important to us. So, we've reached out to you directly to assist you further. Have a wonderful rest of your weekend. -Joanna

Hello, thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that the sealer left a milky finish. This is not the experience we want for our customers, and I understand your disappointment. If only one coat has been applied so far, I suggest testing a second coat over a small area, as this can clear up the finish. If two coats have been applied or the second coat over a test area, does not help, then it is best to remove the sealer and reapply. Customer satisfaction is important to us, and we appreciate your feedback. I'll reach out to you in a private email to find the best way to help. Have a great day! -Giovanna

WHITE BLOTCHES

I stained my courtyard with Behr Desert Sunset. Used your Wet Look Sealer. Ruined my concrete. Dried with several large areas of a blotchy white look. At Home Depot , with salesladys help , we called Behr. Got very little help, except to try and seal again to erase blotches. Did not work. Received file # 01742557 -what am I to do ?

Hello Dave. Thank you for your review. I'm so sorry the sealer dried with several blotchy white spots on your courtyard. Typically, a second coat can help reactivate the first coat so the sealer can dry clear. If it's still blotchy white after letting a test area with the second coat dry for 24 hours, it's best to remove the sealer and reapply it. Customer satisfaction is very important to us. And I'm concerned that you didn't get assistance when you reached out to us. So I've escalated the matter and you should be hearing from someone promptly. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience with us. -Joni

Hi Debs patio, thank you for your review. I'm so sorry the sealer doesn't look glossy. From the picture you included, it seems like it may look milky or white too. I recommend letting the sealer dry for 24 hours to see if that helps it to look like the glossy clear finish you expected. If not and only one coat was applied, you can test a second coat in a small area. This may reactivate the first coat and help it dry clear and build the glossy finish. If two coats have been applied and it's still not looking right, it's best to remove the sealer and reapply. Customer satisfaction is important to us, and we appreciate your feedback. I'll reach out to you directly to assist you with this further. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience with us, and I hope to hear from you soon! -Joni

Caution

I wish I read the reviews and used something else. I prepared my stamped concrete and followed all directions to the “t.” I used 3 gallons and got the cloudy/white finish. I open, against my better judgment, my 4th gallon and applied the second coat over part of it, as instructed in this feed. Of course, no difference. I tried power washing and it doesn’t come off. Now to look for a stripper, which none are specifically recommended. Any suggestions? This totally sucks!!! I am ready to just restain over this.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Because the second coat did not help, it will be best to remove the sealer. Horrible!!!

Last year we decided to seal our patio pavers, that literally was a 20,000 investment in our home... This product literally ruined our patio... It goes on smooth, but dries on a milky white coat that looked awful. Then this winter peeled and left big patchy areas all over the patio. There have been numerous reviews similar to this and why they haven’t removed this from the market is beyond me... We have spent about 30 hours so far power washing to remove this and we are half way done... please read reviews before you waste time and money.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Hello Kimberly, thank you for sharing your feedback. Sorry to hear your sealer left a white milky finish on your pavers and that it's now peeling; that's not the performance we expect from our products.

To remove the remaining sealer off your surface, we'd recommend using a conventional concrete stripper. If your pavers are stained/colored, we'd recommend using a color-safe stripper to prevent discoloration. Once stripped, the pavers can be cleaned with a concrete cleaner/degreaser, allowed to dry for at least 24 hours and re-sealed, if desired.

Customer satisfaction is important to us. So, we've reached out to you directly to assist you further. Have a great rest of your Sunday.

Looked great til it rained 48 hours later

Used the Behr decorative concrete stain first, then put down the sealant. I had a temporary fence up around the patio as well to keep the dogs out. After about 48 hours after finishing up the sealant, took the fence down. Then it rained and the dogs tracked some dirt/mud on the concrete. Now their paw prints won’t come off and it looks terrible. I even tried scrubbing it with water and a broom and nothing. Not happy with this sealant at all.

Hi cdm2784, thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear about the paw prints. This is not typical, and I understand your disappointment. Hi JD Colorado - Thank you for reviewing our sealer. I'm sorry to hear about the issues you ran into on your stamped concrete! This product should dry to a clear finish after 24 hours, and I'm concerned that you ran into adhesion issues with your first coat as well. To fix, the sealer would need to be removed and reapplied to ensure it dries to a crystal clear finish. I've also reached out to you via email to assist you with this further. Great for concert driveways

I have been buying this product for the past 10 years. I have a four car garage driveway that is Black concrete. It was poured black. I live in northern Nevada. To protect it and keep the black color I mix in black concrete color and it restores the color and keeps the moisture out. I roll this on with the large 18 in roller. I do this every other year and my driveway looks just like it was just poured. Buy it. You won’t be sorry. My only regret is the price has increase $8 a gallon from my first application.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great Look Easy Application

used this product on my newly built travertine patio - 900sf. I read all the reviews before I bought this and I can tell you that it was easy to put down and didn’t cause any problems for me. Read and follow all the precautions and directions. Make sure that any of the situations listed don’t apply to you and follow the directions. I tried to use a cheap garden sprayer and I am here to tell you don’t waste your time. It didn’t come out well enough and either way you still have to back roll it to even out any puddling. I applied the sealer like I was painting. Not too thick and not too thin. After waiting the recommended time, I added the second coat. I also put that coat on like I was painting a wall. I made sure I didn’t reroll over the same area too much to affect the first coat and I overlapped properly. After it dried it was perfect. It brought out all color in my travertine. It wasn’t too thick with 2 coats. So it wasn’t too shiny or slippery. It’s a good product and don’t let all these negative stories stop you from tackling the project. It’s really not too hard. Surface prep and making sure it’s dry and you don’t have any moisture issues seeping up in your stone/pavers is key. Go with a thin first coat to see how that goes. You can always add more thin coats. Don’t overthink or over worry. Food the instructions and you will be fine

Yes, I recommend this product.

Hi Ashxomed,

Thank you for reviewing Behr Wet-Look Sealer. I'm very sorry to hear about the milky issue experienced, as it certainly isn't what we want our customers to go through. I understand this must be disappointing, and I want to help.

It sounds like two coats have already been applied. In that case, it would be best to remove the sealer with a paint stripper, power washer, or floor sander. Alternatively, the sealer can be topcoated with something like Behr Solid Color Concrete Stain.

I emailed you directly and look forward to hearing back from you.

Hi jlh2640,

Thank you for reviewing Wet-Look Sealer. I'm very sorry to hear about the milky issue you experienced. It certainly isn't the performance we've come to expect from our products.

If only one coat has been applied, a second coat can be tested in a small area. The second coat may reactivate the first coat so that trapped moisture can escape. Alternatively, you can try wiping a small area with denatured alcohol, as this can also help release trapped moisture. Applying this product during the recommended weather conditions (50-80F; below 50% humidity) and out of direct sunlight is imperative for optimal results.

I would love to help and have emailed you directly. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Kindest regards,

Disappointed

I read the reviews both positive and negative. I followed the instructions for applying to my walkway, fronts stairs and the landing. Made sure the temp was appropriate, no direct sunlight, didn’t roll it out to heavily and even back brushed to make sure that it was uniform. It ended up with milky white splotches all over the concrete. I am beside myself. All the work to clean and prep the area and to have it look so terrible now. I had hoped that my walk way and steps would be a good review but I have absolutely nothing positive to say about this sealer. An absolute waste of time and money.

Great wet look sealer, so far

Used Muriatic acid as recommended to prep concrete that was finished last month. First layer used alot of the sealer and just darkened the concrete slightly. The next three costs used less sealer and after the second coat, the concrete started looking darker and wetter. First two coats I used a 1/4" nap, epoxy roller. The last two coats I used a3/8" nap regular roller. For the first coat, I didn't have to worry about pooling liquid, but the last two coats I had to re-roll alot, in differing directions to make sure that there were no lines. The pictures of other reviewers showed lines... sounds like more care should've been used. The sealer was used to prevent staining the concrete, from dog poop. I probably should have colored the concrete a little before applying the sealer to minimize the existing poo dark spots... but the sealer certainly makes cleanup easier now. Probably should have left a patch of dirt and covered it with loose stone to prevent water pooling (yard is enclosed on all four sides). The sealer looks bright blue/white when being applied but it dries clear. Probably the fact that our humidity level is normally in the teens right now (fire season) but a quick check shows 33% and it's been in the upper 80's/90's this week. When the sealer was in the sun, I worked quickly to smooth everything out since I assumed that the way the liquid surface looked wet, was the way the surface would look dry. Overall I'm happy with the sealer.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Hi DWhite, thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear our sealers finish turned milky; that's not the performance we expect from our products.

If only one coat has been applied, we'd recommend applying a second coat to a small test area. The second coat often reactivates the first coat, allowing it to cure to a clear, high-gloss finish. If, however, the test area does not clear up, or if two coats have already been applied, we'd recommend stripping your sealer with a conventional concrete stripper (or color-safe stripper if the sealer was used on stamped or colored-concrete to avoid discoloration), before reapplying.

Customer satisfaction is very important to us. So, we've reached out to you directly to assist you further. Have a great day.
