I bought a gallon this past week to add an accent color to a wall in my outdoor patio area. No primer or 2nd coat was needed - the color was absolutely perfect matched the paint swatch. I love the can easy open pour spout...BEHR does it right.

Not Tintable

I purchased 2 gallons of the flat stucco paint in Ocean Abyss, beautiful deep rich teal color. This was after I confirmed with Behr that the stucco paint could be tinted to that color. 3 months later I have given up fighting with Home Depot and Behr about the paint I received. I followed the directions for best application (wash, 3 day dry, tsp, Behr multi surface primer, waited 48 hours between coats) All I can say is thank God I only did a test area! The paint dries to NEON TURQUOISE! Home Depot and Behr have tried to "fix it" multiple times and can't. Their final word on the matter, that's the color it's supposed to be, you shouldn't expect it to look anything close to the paint chip. And they refuse to refund their horrible paint I spent over $100 on. I will never buy or recommend Behr or Home Depot to anyone ever again.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Hi there, Thanks for your review. I'm sorry to hear the color turned out differently than the color chip you have and that you didn't get the help you expected when you contacted us. This isn't the experience we want our customers to have, and I want to help. Our Masonry, Stucco & Brick Paint can be tinted to colors like Ocean Abyss, so I'd like to look into this more for you. I went ahead and reached out to you via email to see how else we can help. Hope to hear back from you soon! -Christina

Rainbow of color

I have used several chalk paint brands and Behr is becoming my favorite! I am particular about the sanding for smooth finish and Behr goes on more smoothly than any other. Which means less sanding between coats and before waxing. Smooth final product with less effort . And the sky is the limit for color.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great brick coverage

I had a large 70’s style accent wall that dominated a small room with too much orange brick. This product was a great primer for the paint and went on easily making the final paint coat easy as well. I appreciate the low VOC’s!

Smell is horrible!!! - should not be used inside!

We bought a 5 gallon bucket of this paint and painted our basement with it. We noticed a very off smell when we opened the bucket but we figured it was just this type of paint. It's been several days now and it still smells horrible. Luckily we have lots of windows in the basement to air it out and we are very lucky that we don't live there! I still feel the need to wear a hepa mask when I go down there. How long is this smell going to persist? What are the health hazards? I sprayed this paint on with a airless sprayer and I went through 2 filters on my hepa mask due to ammonia smell breaking through. This paint is scary! It doesn't smell like ammonia or cat pee, more like when you open an old bucket of drywall mud that went bad. The upside is it did cover very well and looks great but I'm afraid I might have to repaint it to get rid of this horrible smell.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Christina, Behr Customer Care
Hi there, Thanks for taking the time to review our Masonry, Stucco & Brick Paint. I'm sorry to hear about the strong odor in your basement after applying this paint. It should have a normal paint odor, so I'm concerned you mentioned it had an off smell when you first opened it. Airing out the space by opening all windows and using fans to push out the odor is the best way to fix this. However, if the odor is not going away with the increased ventilation, I recommend priming with an odor-blocking primer, like Kilz Restoration, and reapplying the paint. I've also reached out to you via email to get more info about your project and further assist. Thanks again for providing your feedback, and I hope to hear from you soon! -Christina

Best paint I've ever used

This paint is some of the best paint I've ever used, I used it to paint tile and it worked perfect! This paint was exactly what I needed to paint over the bricks on the front of our house. Color was perfect and the thickness of the product made it easy to spread on an uneven surface. I had to order a second can and the color was consistent. I would purchase again for any outdoor projects.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Fantastic

We painted the orange bricks of our house with this paint in white (Baker's Box colour) and we're completely happy with the results. The difference was very dramatic. It's like having a new house. I've always used Behr internal and external paints and love them.

5 star on coverage

Always use Behr paint! 2nd facelift for my house in 18yrs. 4yrs ago i painted the brick to dark brown, used Behr stucco paint then - loved it! this time i love the paint but what i have had a problem with 6yrs ago and now again is the same Behr color from exterior paint to the stucco formula ! Below is Behr "off-white" in both formulas and clearly it is different shade from the Brick to the Siding. Both substrates have 2 FULL coats of paint. 6yrs ago and now today after 12 gallons of exterior paint and 6 gallons of Brick/stucco paint am I going to redo the whole thing again ? I am a 56 yr old widow I have done all my own painting on this house.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great Coverage

Great paint. Low odor and great coverage. I was able to keep to 1 coat. I was painting over a medium gray with an off-white. My house is a combination of brick and stucco. This paint is easy to use at a great price point. Because of the low price point, I decided that I would attempt painting my house myself. I started with a 5 gallon container. In total I used 16 gallons and the entire project cost around $500. This is much cheaper than paying a professional painter plus I didn't have anyone hanging around my house. It is work but since I did it myself, I was able to set a pace that worked for me. I did the front of the house first so that I could quickly start enjoying the improvement to the curb appeal.
