Amazing product

This is probably one of the most amazing products I've ever used. I had a deck that surrounds an above ground swimming pool. I've got to stain and seal it every year excuse this product just about 3 years ago and my deck looks like I just stained it yesterday. I like the textured because it hides imperfections, and its not slippery when my kids get out of the pool. Absolutely a wonderful product.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Long lasting, good color

The color was exactly what we were looking for. It brushed on smoothly and evenly. It is water-resistant, and so far, with the grandchildren running across it all summer, it has held up wonderfully.

Used this product to paint a very old & weathered shed. The paint covered the splintering wood and sealed it from the elements.

Ilove this stuff. I used it on my deck 42x25

I did my deck in plywood with a 2 inch slope from my house to the side of my pool. It’s dark brown with some grit so no one slips. It’s now a large area that doesn’t leak for all my lawn chairs riding lawnmower and deck furniture when not in use. Ya been great for 8 years now.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great tone and texture

I wanted to paint my fence black to contrast before covering with flowers. I chose a textured floor paint for deck, at first I was surprised by the thickness of the paint almost a flan texture and deep like tar, but as soon as I started to apply I saw the results in coverage of cracks and small imperfections of the wood. I love the result and will use this product again to work on front yard.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Looks Like a Brand New Deck!

We used Behr Premium DeckOver Textured on an old, weather-beaten deck after the last two years of using Thompsons! The transformation was incredible. It filled in cracks, smoothed out splinters, and gave the surface a fresh, slip-resistant texture that feels solid underfoot. The coverage was thick and even, though it does take some effort to apply—definitely follow their instructions and don’t skimp on prep. I used two coats, and the color stayed rich after rain and extreme sun. Months later, it’s still holding up beautifully with no peeling or fading. If you’re thinking about replacing your deck, try this first. I highly recommend anyone who has used any other products, this will save you money & a lot of future work without it!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Loved Behr until now

I've painted three homes, interior and exterior with Behr and would never consider another product, but this Advanced Deck Over is absolutely terrible. It left streaks, which I've never seen another product do. My porch looks horrible, and now I have to paint it again with another product. Do NOT buy this paint.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Hi there, thank you for reviewing our Advanced Deckover. I’m sorry to hear that you're having an issue with streaks and roller marks. To fix the issue, I’d recommend applying another coat in the opposite direction and making sure that you are keeping a wet edge. I’ve also reached out to you via email to learn more about your project and assist you with this further. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience with us, and I hope to hear from you soon! -Ronald

Non slip dock surface is fantastic

I live on a small lake and have a wooden dock that is in the shade a lot. It has always been slippery and we have to be careful while on it. I have tried all kinds of products, even scattered sand on top of wet stain, nothing has really helped, until I tried Behr’s Advanced Deckover last spring. It does everything it claims it will. It went on easily with the suggested roller, filled in the small cracks, covered some repairs I did with the same color and texture, and is easy on the bare feet. No one slipped at all, dry or wet. I only wish I had discovered this product years ago!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great for weathered wood

Applied it 2 years back. Still on and none of the paint has come off. The only problem with the paint is low shelf life once opened has to be used in 2 days otherwise the paint goes bad and is very thick and difficult to work with.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Deckover Texture is awesome.

Deckover textured is perfect for both new and old wood. It provides a grippy surface so you don't slip, fills in voids on both new and old deck wood. I coated my whole front deck, stairs, and handrails. It went on nice and thick and filled in cracks and the depressions around nail heads. Although by back porch is too far dry rotted to save I did coat a small section near the door to see how it does with 16 year old deck wood. It filled in all the voids and covered real well. This summer when I replace the back deck I'll use deckover textured on everything. It's well worth the price and the colors matched perfect across 2 gallons.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Can I repair peeling Deckover with wood stain??

I used Behr’s Deckover on both my deck at home and our dock at our lake cottage. Both are peeling ver badly! But after hours and hours of power washing, scraping and even sanding, I’m finding it impossible to get it even close to off. So can I just cover these surfaces with solid color waterproofing wood stain? Or would this just worsen my problem.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Thank you for your review. I'm so sorry to hear about your decks peeling. We want our customers to achieve positive results with their projects, and we're here to help! For uniformity, I recommend removing any loose coating. Anything that is well adhered and isn't coming off can stay on the surface. Then, clean the decks with our All-In-One Wood Cleaner. Once the surface is clean and dry, you can recoat the wood with our Solid Color Waterproofing Stain & Sealer. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we want to help you get your project back on track. We've reached out to you directly via email to learn more about your project and assist you further. We hope to hear from you soon!

This stuff is AWESOME!!

My deck was over 20 years old and looking pretty rough! After we cleaned the deck, we sanded the floor surface with a floor sander and the rails with a palm sander, and then applied the textured Deckover. It turned out beautiful and lasted a LONG time. Here we are about 8 years later. There are some spots where it's peeling, and we only had to replace 2 boards. Hoping it lasts another 8 years before it needs to be done again.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I'm impressed with longevity of this deck covering on my outdoor, old redwood deck. It's been five years and still looks fairly well. I'll probably repaint again next year but I had typically repainted every 2-3 years. Very satisfied!

Will be great when applied.....

I was was ill and having a slow recovery. Also I have been having problems with either blazing heat or pouring rain. Ihave a second floor deck across the front of my house to be done. I have a tuck under garage with 2 flights of stairs to get to my front door. They are getting the textured recovery paint. There is a deck half way up the stairs on ground level and a third deck across half of the house by the front door. I do have all the stain just waiting for me this spring.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Peels up within 1 year! Offered no assistance eith

I bought the textured Deck Over and had it put down on new wood. Within 1 year it peeled up and continues to. When I contacted a representative I was told "Oh you must have did something wrong." After a couple years now I have seen three or more other people’s decks whom have used the same product and it peeled up. This was an expensive product for the size of my deck and it was to hold up for many years. NOT!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm sorry to hear that your deck peeled so soon and that you weren't assisted. This is not the experience we want for our customers, and I'll be emailing you directly to find the best way to help. In the meantime, the best way to get your deck looking beautiful again is to sand the loose coating off, clean it with the All-In-One Wood Cleaner, allow the surface to dry, and touch-up or recoat as needed. I'm looking forward to assisting you. Have a great day! -Giovanna
