Fabulous product

I used this product to finish a 50+ year old-old dining table/family heirloom that I stripped to bare wood. It gave the most beautiful soft finish I could have imagined and was extremely easy to use and apply. The beautiful original wood color showed through with no yellowing from an oil based product.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Amazing product

I recently used BEHR PREMIUM Fast-Drying Water-Based Polyurethane and was really impressed with the results. It went on smoothly, dried quickly, and left a beautiful clear finish without a strong odor like oil-based products. I used it on a wood project and it provided excellent protection while still letting the natural wood grain show through nicely. What I liked most was how easy it was to apply and clean up with just soap and water. The fast drying time made it possible to do multiple coats in one day, which saved a lot of time. The finish looks durable, professional, and has held up very well so far. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a quality water-based polyurethane for furniture, floors, or DIY woodworking projects.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Easy to use and excellent finish

I trusted this product for a very labour intensive dining table project I worked on and was not disappointed. It was easy to apply and dried quick which enabled faster recoats. I used a Gloss finish first and finished with the matte finish for added depth.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Works well if you’re willing to work well

Used true black and clear to refinish oak table tops for a restaurant. I can’t speak to the durability yet or to how my technique works for other colors; but the application was pretty straightforward. Belt Sanded at 80 & 100…Orbidal sanded at 60, 100, 120 First coat: sprayed to about 80% of entire surface on using a spray bottle. Working quickly (have brush and stain ready). Used a 5” foam brush to apply about four coats in grain direction. During brushing…look just ahead of the brush at the grain; not at the brush directly. Brush was angled to about 45 degrees, following angle on the brush-tip. Started from the middle of the table top; then brushed out in both directions with a final few full strokes over the entire length. Worked quickly getting a thin coat on. Very light pressure buff using full strokes following grain (once-over only) in-between coats; only after dry. Wiped after buffing with a shop paper towel. Coats 2&3: same process. Coat 4: used a deck bristle brush to apply last coat. Dipping brush in stain and using tray edge to squeeze out excess. Don’t soak the brush. This brush coat step was to get into some of the deeper grooves that were missed with foam brush. Same process for the rest. You can use the foam brush to lightly hit the edges and clean up drips. Light touch helps. Clear top-coat using Behr water based poly clear. After cleaning the brush with soap and water and drying: I brushed one thin coat on. Don’t soak the brush. Starting from the middle of the table top brushing alternately in either direction until the edge. Then immediately made full passes; looking at the wood grain ahead of the stroke. Light strokes at an angle. Foam brush for the edges. Light touch. Light 400 grit buff after dry, wipe, Reapply, light buff, wipe. reapply.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I've been using Behr products for awhile but never used the Premium Fast-drying Water-based Polyurethane. This was so easy to use. The consistency is perfect. It dries quickly and the cleanup is very easy.

Great product and easy to work with

I have used competitors products for years. I have used water-based, oil based, and lacquer based products. When I bought. The behr water-based polyurethane satin I was a little bit skeptical. I followed the directions on the can by stirring and not shaking and stirring throughout use. The first coat I used a 4 inch foam roller went on amazing. I sanded with 220 grit between coats and used a high-quality nylon polyester. Brush to do the second coat. The key to any good finish is not putting it on too thick. You want to do a 3 to 5 mill thickness, wet. I would highly recommend this product to anyone and I will continue to buy it for all my home renovation projects. I do believe I will be expanding my use of Behr products. From paint for the walls to your walls exterior sealant for decks and furniture. Thank you for making a great product.

Yes, I recommend this product.
