Where to Use

Properly prepared interior bare wood surfaces. Not recommended for floors.

How to Use

Surface Preparation

• Proper surface preparation is required
• Remove any existing finishes with sandpaper or liquid stripper.
• Aged Wood Effects works best on bare wood.
• Prepare bare wood by sanding in the direction of the grain with sandpaper.
• Remove any dust with a clean, dry rag.

Product Preparation and Color Testing

• Aged Wood Effects color will vary with different types of wood.
• To verify the final look, test Aged Wood Effects in an inconspicuous area first.

Application

• Stir material thoroughly before and occasionally during use. Do not shake.
• For best results, use at temperatures between 60ºF (16ºC) and 90ºF (32ºC).
• Apply with a synthetic bristle brush or foam brush.
• Allow Aged Wood Effects to sit on the wood for 30 minutes to 1 hour for the final effect. Wiping away is not required.

Clear Finish Application

• A topcoat is necessary for the best protection.
• Wait 1 hour for Aged Wood Effects to dry before applying clear topcoat.
• For best results, use BEHR Premium ^® Water-Based Fast Drying Polyurethane as a protective top coat. Test in an inconspicuous area first.

Dry Time

• Allow Aged Wood Effects to sit on the wood for 30 minutes to 1 hour for the final effect. Wiping away is not required.
• For a lighter effect, apply product and wipe away immediately or lightly sand the finish with fine grit sandpaper once it is dry. To darken, a second coat can be applied after 1 hour.

Disposal

• For disposal of empty containers and unused product contact your household refuse collection service.

For one year from the date of purchase, Behr Process LLC warrants to the original consumer purchaser, (1) that the product meets Behr Process LLC’s manufacturing specifications, and (2) the performance of this product when applied according to the label instructions and specifications. If this product is found not to perform as specified on the label within one year from the date of purchase, Behr Process LLC will, at its option and upon presentation of proof-of-purchase (the original receipt), either furnish an equivalent amount of new product or refund the original purchase price of this product to you. This warranty excludes (1) labor and costs of labor for the application or removal of any product, and (2) any incidental or consequential damages, whether based on breach of express or implied warranty, negligence, strict liability or any other legal theory. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. To the extent permitted by applicable law, any implied warranties including the implied warranties of merchantability and of fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to the duration of this express warranty. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state. Note to residents of the State of New Jersey: The provisions of this warranty, including its limitations, are intended to apply to the fullest extent permitted by the laws of the State of New Jersey.
