Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolutely horrible Professional painter here. I usually use Rustoleum oil based paints or Sherwin Williams. I was in an area to do a job and ran out of my usual paints and my only option was a Home Depot with this Behr “paint” (and I use that term loosely as to not offend other paint manufacturers). This paint is horrible. The smell is 10 times worse than any oil paint I have ever used. It literally will burn your eyes like you’ve been swimming in a pool that is over chlorinated. It’s also extremely runny and hard to control because it’s so thin. And I’m on day 6 and the homeowner I did the job for says it’s still not dry. Now I have to spend huge amounts of money to remove this crap paint and do the job all over again with proper paint. Only saving grace is because it has never dried I never got to put a second coat on. Thanks for ruining this job and my reputation with my customer. If you can’t make a proper oil based paint then don’t offer one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Years of excellent results I have used the satin and semi-gloss versions of this enamel for years. I tried different brands, but was disappointed. I remodeled the kitchen and added Penetrol to the paint to reduce brush/roller marks. Everyone thinks I sprayed the cabinets. I have thinned and sprayed other projects with excellent results. The paint has proven to be bulletproof. I don't understand the many reviews of slow drying. Never a problem. I am building a bathroom vanity and am painting it with Mega Blue satin. Painted it in the afternoon and installed the next morning. I live in central Texas where we receive humid gulf stream breezes nearly year long, but still no drying issues.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worried Our handy man bought this paint instead of my normal choice of Behr low-order Paint & Primer. It’s been over a week and the 2 cabinets he painted, even with keeping the fan on and windows open for 24hrs/day, I can still smell the paint. I’m pregnant and I have a 19 month old. This paint is a nightmare to dry and the smell remains after 6 days. Don’t purchase this unless you are using it outside your home. Should be illegal to use inside a home.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent coverage I love the coverage of this paint! It takes longer than the other furniture/cabinet paint I used, but it is well worth the wait. It dries to a beautiful, smooth, durable finish. I highly recommend!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not dry! This paint does not dry. The can says dry time 4-5 hours! It’s been 30 hours. What a joke.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wont dry -Used for indoor shelving...The dry time is ridiculous...The odor is stronger than any solvent paint I've used hence, "this is not an interior Paint"....also, Behr should know this is not an exterior paint either,,,You don't use an oil-based based paint outside///!!!...Please don't confuse this with solvent, catalyst, polyester, resin etc.. -Avoid using these experimental products. If you require a solvent base, stick to the Sherwin or Ben...with solvent experience,,,!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from covers good but not fast drying hall trim has been on saw horse in heated garage for 24 hrs. Still not dry enough to put up.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Slow dry and stinky - but great finish once dry The can says 4-6 hours dry and 24 hours recoat, it drys a lot slower than that and it will outgas for for 24+ hours stinking up your house (72 degrees with airflow). Once cured it is great. I have been applying enamels for 20+ years and this is the slowest curing enamel I have ever used, I think they overload it with pigment for coverage.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Paint! I really wish I’d read the reviews before I purchased this. I figured paint was paint but was I wrong! This is garbage. It will not dry! And I understand it’s oil based, but I just finished painting some other cabinets with another brand satin oil paint and it’s fabulous. I’m going to have to strip what I’ve done so far and start over. Luckily, I started with some shelves to double check the color so I don’t have to strip my entire kitchen island!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Drying is taking forever! Painting my teenage daughter's bedroom. This paint covered well with one coat, but drying is taking forever! I have to keep animals (and my daughter) away from it until it is cured and that is proving tough with it taking DAYS to dry! And, HOW IN THE HECK DO YOU EXPECT MINERAL SPIRITS TO "TAKE OUT THE TACKINESS"? Please explain. I will be asking for a refund and using another product from this point forward.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hard to work with. Doesn’t dry. Worst oil based paint I have ever worked with. Very difficult to apply. Drying takes forever. Will have to trash this paint and go with another brand. I do not recommend. It was a waste of money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from wonderful coverage This was my first time using a high gloss enamel and a paint that is not latex based...let's just say that stains on your skin are not as removable. But once that hurdle was overcome the painting was amazing. thick coverage, amazing vibrant color. the dry time was a lot longer than "regular" paint but worth it for the color and the sheen!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My House shines! I used the Hi-Gloss Enamel Paint on my siding and shutters and what a difference. I have received so many compliments from people on my street that I have never even met. It was easy to apply and dried quickly which is great because living in Northeast Ohio, you never know what kind of weather surprises you will get. Great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Machinery Coating Ever I used Behr Oil-Base High-Gloss Enamel during my most recent machine refurbishing project. I was pretty much resigned to the fact that the original color enamel would be impossible to find so touch up painting was going to be out of the question. That is, until I took a sample part from the machine with the original color to my local Home Depot and the computer scanned this part and generated a "custom" paint recipe. I took the paint home to my shop and found out immediately that it was as perfect a match as I could have hoped for. It brushed on smooth and dried smooth (no marks). I am very satisfied with this product and have used it on a number of machines since. My wife was so impressed with one color that she ripped it off and painted the front door of our house with it. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope others will try it just as I did.
