Product Usage

Ideal for old and new wooden furniture, cast stone, concrete, or even metal surfaces.

  • After painting the entire surface with BEHR Chalk Decorative Paint, allow a minimum of 2 hours to dry (Cooler temperatures or high humidity may prolong drying time).
  • Use a natural bristle brush or lint-free rag to apply the wax.
  • Spread the wax evenly over the surface.
  • Allow wax to dry before buffing.
  • Focus on highlighting the best features of the piece by working the wax into small crevices.
  • To maintain the quality of your finish, reapply wax as needed.
DisposalBlank space if empty.
  • For disposal of empty containers, unused paint and soiled rags, contact your household refuse collection service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only wax I use now I refinish, restore and upcycle furniture for a living. And I'm definitely a wax girl whenever possible, so I've used plenty of wax, all different brands, paste and liquid. Behr clear wax is my absolute favorite over chalk paints. Leaves a smooth and durable finish with just a bit of sheen after buffing. A little goes a long way for sure. You won't be disappointed in this wax

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm sold on Behr - - - once again! I found the Behr Wax finish in the Home Depot after hearing about it on-line. Doing some crafting projects and thought I would give this finish a try instead of defaulting to the usual liquid stain after the initial paint etc. Although this product wasn't used over Behr Chalk paint, it worked over other Behr paint. And work it did! I will definitely use it again and again. Loved the patina that it produced with buffing. SOLD!!!!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dries white in cracks. Rescued with shoe polish. I refinished a chest of drawers with Behr Chalk Paint in Classic Noir. I was very pleased with the result until I added the wax. I followed the instructions: I worked it into the cracks and crevices and allowed it to dry before buffing. Disaster! The wax dried white in all the blemishes and could not be buffed out with a cloth or brush. I followed the suggestion in the reply to a similar review and tried to remove the white wax by softening it with fresh wax. This worked to some extent, but once the wax dried again there was often still some residual white. In desperation I tried working Black Kiwi Instant Shoe Polish (the liquid stuff with a foam applicator) into the blemishes with a tooth brush. It worked like charm. The shoe polish softened the wax allowing its removal, and, of course, any residual was now black and hence invisible. I was so pleased with result that I applied the shoe polish over the whole chest of drawers, buffing it out immediately. I am now super-pleased with the result. But it will be a long time before I use a Behr product again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ruined my dresser and days of work Been refurbishing an old dresser and used a couple layers of black chalk paint. After following the directions and letting the wax dry for 2hrs, I was left with white streaks that I am unable to buff. Looking at other reviews, it looks like a lot of other users with black chalk paint got their furniture ruined by this product.
